The year 1954 marks a significant milestone in the history of the scouting movement in the United Arab Emirates, as the first scout troop was established at Al-Qasimia School in the Emirate of Sharjah by Mr. Mohammed Diab Al-Mousa. The troop leader was His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. This event represented the official launch of the scouting movement in the country, followed in 1955 by the establishment of the first cub pack, and later in 1956 by Sharjah scouts’ participation in the 10th scouting camp in Kuwait. This marked the beginning of a new phase of growth and Arab interaction in the journey of UAE scouting.
