The Oud Metha Church Scout Group, in collaboration with the Dubai Scout Commission, organized a Weekend Scout Camp from Friday, January 24 to Sunday, January 26, 2025. The camp brought together 120 scouts, guides, and leaders from various community-based scouting groups affiliated with the church.
The camp began at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and continued until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. It aimed to develop participants’ skills and abilities through a comprehensive weekend program filled with outdoor and field-based scouting training and teamwork activities.
The program included a range of practical and recreational activities such as camp setup and tent pitching, flag ceremonies, training in scouting traditions, outdoor cooking, navigation using compasses, ropework, and code decoding. Evening campfires and social gatherings fostered friendship, cultural exchange, and scout spirit among participants.
Organizers highlighted that the camp successfully enhanced scouting skills and promoted self-reliance, discipline, and teamwork among participants. It also strengthened cultural understanding and camaraderie among the scouts from different community groups in an atmosphere of respect and unity.
