The General Command of Dubai Police, in cooperation with the Dubai Scout Commission, organized the “Zayed Humanitarian Day” event on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, under the theme “A Touch of Loyalty to Zayed the Giver.” The event honored the memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founder of the United Arab Emirates, and celebrated his humanitarian legacy that continues to inspire philanthropy and generosity across the nation.
The event began at 9:00 p.m. and continued until midnight, attended by prominent community figures and scout leaders. The program opened with the UAE national anthem, followed by a short film titled “Zayed the Giver,” and a speech by Major General Abdullah Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police, who emphasized the importance of the day in strengthening the culture of humanitarian work within Emirati society.
The event included a presentation titled “In Love of Zayed” performed by scouts and students, a speech by the Dubai Scout Commission, and an appreciation ceremony honoring the cooperating institutions. Attendees also enjoyed a tour of the accompanying exhibition, followed by the inauguration of outdoor activities celebrating volunteerism and social service.
Participants included UAE Scout veterans and leaders, senior citizens, members of Thukher Club and the UAE Friends of Senior Citizens Association, the brass scout musical band, Mashaaer Center for People of Determination, community-based scout groups, university scouts from Al Qasimia and the University of Sharjah, representatives of the Community Development Authority, orphans, and labor groups.
Dubai Police and the Dubai Scout Commission affirmed that the event stands as a tribute to Sheikh Zayed’s enduring humanitarian legacy and a reaffirmation of the UAE’s national values of generosity, unity, and compassion. It also serves to inspire future generations to embrace volunteerism and uphold the principles of service, solidarity, and national pride.
